I met Chris Cooley a couple years ago when we did a salon party with one of my favorite artist Maggie O'Neill. We had a artist jam session in his basement with our other artist friend who you need to also check out Rodger Shultz. Rodger and Chris were molding clay, Maggie was painting and I was shooting. It was amazing! So I was so happy when his beautiful fiancé, Madi, reached out to me to capture their intimate wedding day. I of course said YES!! Especially because it was such a tight group of close friends and family. They gave the artisans that put together their wedding free reign to be creative and Chris even made the table settings for the wedding!! Check out the wedding and all the hand crafted details that were made with love! Whats not to love? xo
Here are some of the amazing individuals who worked on this wedding and these words are directly from Madi (the brides) mouth. ;)
Big shout outs to everyone who made this photo possible:

Hunt Country Gardens for those beautiful flowers and crown - what an angel baby, amiright!?
Cathy Foerster-Ebrada Cleveland for her master seamstress skills (seriously ladies - she's a good woman to have in your corner)
Abigail de Casanova - Hairstylist & Makeup Artist for that perfect 'do. Not many people can manage this mane, and she did it perfectly.

Bella Villa Antiques & Vintage Rentals for my lovely decorations, and Rosanna's genius ideas.
LeahLetters for my - no joke - perfect finishing touches.
And Nick Caracciolo for his suave dj skills that got everyone dancing the night away.

Meet Dawn, she wanted something different for her husbands birthday this year. She is a mother of three boys, and possibly one of the most down to earth people I have met in a long time. Let's give her a round of applause for stepping outside of her comfort zone! I am happy to say, he was NOT disappointed. xo
When your muse is in town for 24 hours & you are without wardrobe and hair... what do you do? You do bathtub shoot. And here it is. xo
So back in July, I thought I would experiment and try something out of my comfort zone. My father wasn't in the best of health and needed I and outlet. It all started with some doubles of prints that I had, so I thought... why the hell not?! I started painting over those and ended up with painting some canvases. I have a ton of abstract photography but there were always colors and shapes I couldn't get with my camera, so I turned to a brush and freed my mind. My Father is doing much better now and my paint brush hasn't stopped, so stay tuned. xo
OMGEEEEE I forgot to mention- I always donate a portion of my art sales to charitable organizations. So it's a win win. BUY ART. DO GOOD. GIVE BACK!! Instead of buying a T.V. or a pair of shoes that you don't need for the holiday, how about supporting an artist that gives back?
You can now find this series at Lilian August in their store in Norwalk, Connecticut. xo
Message me if you see something you like I can ship or hand deliver.
Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes of my sessions? Well lucky you, I have made a video. Fully equipped with a accent infused posing demo. xo
I have been really lucky in my career to meet some amazing people, and a few of my clients started out as friends who appreciated my work and have been following me throughout the years... do you see the trend? And when your friends want to hire you...that just makes me happy! That being said I love the people that I come in contact with in my life.
Here is the story behind how I got to know Kubiak.
Kubi (as we like to call him) has been friends with my husband for years, they played on the same soccer league. He ended up coming to one of my exhibits a couple years back and purchased a piece from me. Don't you already love him!?
Fast forward a couple years and I received an email from him that he would be proposing to his girlfriend and wanted me there to capture it. We devised a plan of a "farewell to D.C. photoshoot" since he would be taking a job in Taiwan and D'Arcy would be going with him. It was the height of Cherry blossom season in D.C. and we met at the monuments with our plan in action at Sunrise. FYI nobody has ever convinced me to get up that early unless it was to fly off to an exotic location. Clearly he's pretty special in my book, and possibly one of the kindest people you would ever meet.
And the story continues...I was so excited when they asked me to photograph their wedding in Ludington, Michigan this September. They included myself and my husband in everything from the family get togethers and the rehearsal dinner. I got to know their fantastic family and friends and made a few new friends myself. Check out their wedding video and you too will see that their love is contagious. Love and good energy flow from these two. I wish the both of you a lifetime of happiness & adventures. xo
I have known Allie for close to ten years, we met at my friend Frantz Sebastian's salon. I would do there windows and floral displays (yes, I do that too, more on that later.) and she was the receptionist. She had told me since the beginning that she would want me to photograph her wedding, ten years later I did and it was beautiful to capture the love of someone who has been loyal to my work for so long. Not to mention how laid back she is, she actually hopped in my car for a ride to the ceremony!! How cool is that!!
Allie and Chase decided to have a lovely farm wedding at Mathwig Barn in Thurmont, Maryland. The skies were clear and the weather was crisp and still warm for Fall. Take a look and don't forget to check out the video. xo Dominique
Special thanks to my second shooter Sebastian Marin, who photographed the guys getting ready and ceremony! Check out his work here http://www.sebastianmarin.photo
With an engagement and a baby on the way, I had lovebirds Kathryn & Steven run around on what might be the hottest day of the year (it was around 100 degrees, yikes!) did they complain-- nope! They are going to make fantastic parents and I can't wait to meet the little one! Here is a short video of our shoot. xo
I love a good renegade photo shoot! Check out our Photo Therapy session with Courtney, she's a mother to two young boys that are adorable. Courtney, wanted to celebrate looking fantastic and can you blame her? xo
So do you love it? Want a shoot? I would love to hear what you think and what you would like to do for your own shoot.
Aside from Photo Therapy, I also do couples therapy and family therapy. Yes, yes- I know... A whole lot of therapy is going on. But everyone could use a little therapy, right?
Here is a preview of my Family Therapy session with Kathleen and James, they are one of my favorite clients and you will see why after you watch this video. xo
FYI Michael Jackson was playing during our shoot.
Haya & Jeff met while he was studying abroad in Barcelona. The rest is history. This is the story of their breathtaking wedding day infused with Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana and Phalaenopsis orchids. Thank you for being such a stylish couple & trusting to me to capture one of the most important days in your lives. Bisous!!
FYI Haya is a fashion blogger check out her site here: http://goodgoodgorgeous.com
a little side note... I had to plead with Haya the night before her wedding, so that we could shoot in the Barrio Gotico. I'm in BARCELONA I want to shoot in the streets, she would have popped my happy photographer bubble if she had said no...luckily I was convincing and she thanks me to this day. Looks like it worked. : )
This wedding was AMAZING!! And Haya has become one of my best friends. Once again, make sure you love your photographer their energy is essential to a happy wedding day. xo
Sometimes my Photo Therapy sessions are on the sexier side and I love it!!
