Maria came to me wanting a maternity shoot that was feminine, simple and timeless. I got an added bonus when she wanted to include her sweet 2 year old son, Marcus (who btw totally stole the show). Check out her shoot and I can't wait to paint a portrait of her from this session!! xo
DC Editorial Portrait Session// Photo Therapy
Meet Dawn, she wanted something different for her husbands birthday this year. She is a mother of three boys, and possibly one of the most down to earth people I have met in a long time. Let's give her a round of applause for stepping outside of her comfort zone! I am happy to say, he was NOT disappointed. xo
bath editorial
When your muse is in town for 24 hours & you are without wardrobe and hair... what do you do? You do bathtub shoot. And here it is. xo
Behind The Scenes//The Blue Room
Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes of my sessions? Well lucky you, I have made a video. Fully equipped with a accent infused posing demo. xo
allie & chase tie the knot!!
I have known Allie for close to ten years, we met at my friend Frantz Sebastian's salon. I would do there windows and floral displays (yes, I do that too, more on that later.) and she was the receptionist. She had told me since the beginning that she would want me to photograph her wedding, ten years later I did and it was beautiful to capture the love of someone who has been loyal to my work for so long. Not to mention how laid back she is, she actually hopped in my car for a ride to the ceremony!! How cool is that!!
Allie and Chase decided to have a lovely farm wedding at Mathwig Barn in Thurmont, Maryland. The skies were clear and the weather was crisp and still warm for Fall. Take a look and don't forget to check out the video. xo Dominique
Special thanks to my second shooter Sebastian Marin, who photographed the guys getting ready and ceremony! Check out his work here http://www.sebastianmarin.photo
construction sites, forest, and cinder blocks...yes please!
I love a good renegade photo shoot! Check out our Photo Therapy session with Courtney, she's a mother to two young boys that are adorable. Courtney, wanted to celebrate looking fantastic and can you blame her? xo
So do you love it? Want a shoot? I would love to hear what you think and what you would like to do for your own shoot.
family therapy....yes please!
Aside from Photo Therapy, I also do couples therapy and family therapy. Yes, yes- I know... A whole lot of therapy is going on. But everyone could use a little therapy, right?
Here is a preview of my Family Therapy session with Kathleen and James, they are one of my favorite clients and you will see why after you watch this video. xo
FYI Michael Jackson was playing during our shoot.
Morgan + Jaquie a New York Wedding.
I met Jaqueline and Morgan a few years before I shot their wedding They bought a piece of my art work and we fell in love with each other... Yes- that's how it should work with your wedding photographer. They said ''when we get married, we want you to shoot our wedding'' of course I said YES!! Flash forward a couple years and here I was in NYC shooting their New York wedding. They wanted their love of NY to be present in the images so we did a tour with all their favorite spots. They had an intimate wedding that took place in Grand Central St ation Campbell Apartment. Take a look at our day....xo
what is 'photo therapy'?
Have you ever wanted to step outside your comfort zone, feel good about yourself, feel proud, be more confidant, be pampered, be a model for a day, show off? Well if you have ever wanted any of those things than Photo Therapy is for you.
It is a day to feel good about yourself and build confidence in a secure and fun environment. I receive all kinds of request, from divorcees wanting to feel sexy again and get back in the game, they are entering a new chapter in their lives and want to reflect the happier new version of themselves. I get women who are self conscious and need a little pick me up. I get woman that want to do something for their significant other. I also get woman that are proud of their body and all the hard workouts and want to show it off! But whatever your reason is for doing Photo Therapy you can't deny the way it makes you feel...GOOD! That's why it's called therapy.
Getting Lucia ready for her second look...
So let me take you through a little background on how the session goes. We start off with a couple emails or a phone conversation on what you dream of doing- wether it be channeling Beyonce in a shoot or rinding a horse in an evening gown it can be done. I tailor a shoot with your thoughts in mind and create a custom photo shoot editorial. Equipped with hair stylist, make-up artist and a styled wardrobe fit for your shoot. Thats right... I shop for you and pull clothing from some of my favorite shops and my own collection. ;) Basically you're walking into your own photo shoot like a celebrity would- only I am your photographer with an amazing supportive team of creative artist to make you look and feel your best. Not to mention I will entertain you the whole time with my slew of accents that just happen to pop out of my mouth at any given moment ( I can go from Irish to Jamaican in one breath ).
So If you like to be entertained, have fun, play dress up and get some amazing images to show off. Than 'Photo Therapy' is for you. Look forward to shooting and hanging out with you!! xox
Lucia's words......What happens when you combine confidence, beauty, fashion and a camera? Photo Therapy with Dominique Fierro. My Photo Therapy session with Dominique was an amazing experience. Dominique styled me from head to toe and planned my hair and make-up look with the hair and make-up artist she brought to the shoot, Abigail de Casanova. I was transformed and felt amazing. The entire day was fun and natural. I’ve never felt so good about myself. The photos were stunning. It is an experience I will always treasure.- Lucia
in the blue room sessions
So, I was lucky enough to get these lovely ladies in front of my lens and I donated a portion to the non-profit PROJECT SOAR. Look good. Do good. What's not to love? Did I forget to mention that all the woman just happened to be gorgeous! Here are a few images from my sessions with them.
Thank you to my good friend who also just happens to be one of the best hair stylist and make-up artist in the D.C. area, Abigail De Casanova. And the fantastic boutique Ella-Rue in Georgetown for providing some of the clothes. xoxo
